Passenger drone from EHang, China

EHang EH216-Slaunch date, fares and status

The EH216-S holds CAAC type (October 2023), standard airworthiness (December 2023) and production (April 2024) certificates, and two operators received China's first air operator certificates for it in March 2025. EHang planned public ticketed sightseeing flights from March 2026, but its August 2026 results described only trial operations amid slower Chinese approvals, and it withdrew its 2026 revenue guidance. It flew public demonstration sessions in Hong Kong on 28 to 30 August 2026.

EHang sells the EH216-S to tour operators; regular public ticketed rides haven't clearly opened yet.

EHang sells the aircraft to operators, so riding is the realistic option for most people. China's two licensed operators fly it at EHang Future City in Guangzhou and Luogang Central Park in Hefei, where early-bird public tickets at ¥299 (about $45) were announced for March 2026, and EHang's August 2026 results describe only trial operations. It has also made demonstration flights in Hong Kong, Thailand and Kazakhstan.

Questions people ask

How much does the EHang EH216-S cost?

EHang's suggested retail price in China is RMB 2.39 million, about $357,000 at October 2026 exchange rates; operators, not individuals, buy it. A separate overseas price of $410,000 was reported in 2024. For riders, EHang announced an early-bird sightseeing ticket of ¥299 (about $45) for March 2026, but ticket sales haven't been confirmed open.

When can you ride or buy the EHang EH216-S?

EHang sells the aircraft mainly to operators. Riders can look to the two licensed sites, EHang Future City in Guangzhou and Luogang Central Park in Hefei. EHang planned public ticket sales there from March 2026, but a July 2026 site visit found no public ticket window and EHang's August 2026 results described only trial operations, so check before you travel.

Do you need a pilot's license to fly the EHang EH216-S?

No. The EH216-S flies itself with no pilot on board, and it is run by operators approved by China's CAAC, so passengers need no license. The EH216-S has no FAA approval for US passenger service.

Has the EHang EH216-S actually flown?

Yes. EHang says the EH216 series has completed nearly 100,000 flights in 23 countries. It has carried invited passengers in China and Kazakhstan's transport minister in August 2026. As of August 2026, trial operations at the Guangzhou and Hefei sites had run for 17 months.
