Price and how to order
Do you need a license to fly the Jetson ONE?
Jetson says its US version complies with FAA Part 103, which requires no pilot certificate, medical certificate or registration. Part 103 covers single-occupant vehicles used only for recreation or sport that weigh under 254 lb empty (floats and emergency devices such as parachutes excluded), carry no more than 5 US gallons of fuel and cannot exceed 55 knots (63 mph) in level flight. You may fly only between sunrise and sunset (a lit twilight exception applies), never over congested areas or crowds, and not in controlled airspace near airports without ATC permission. The FAA does not certify ultralights, so compliance is Jetson's own declaration.

Questions people ask
How much does the Jetson ONE cost?
Jetson's order page lists $148,000 before taxes and other fees as of October 2026. You pay an $8,000 non-refundable down payment to order and the $140,000 balance when the aircraft is ready at the factory. The price has climbed over time, from about $92,000 in 2022 to $128,000 in late 2025.
When can you buy the Jetson ONE?
You can order one now, but Jetson says 2026 and 2027 production is sold out and new orders are estimated for 2028 delivery. Customer deliveries began in September 2025.
Do you need a pilot's license to fly the Jetson ONE?
Not in the US, according to Jetson, which says the US version meets FAA Part 103 ultralight rules. Those rules allow one person, recreational use only, daylight flying only and no flights over towns, cities or crowds. Other countries set their own rules. In Italy, for example, the aircraft must be registered and the pilot needs qualifications and a medical certificate.
Has the Jetson ONE actually flown?
Yes. Jetson has delivered aircraft to customers since September 2025, including Palmer Luckey, who flew his after a short training session. Jetson says more than 85 people have trained to fly it.
